KAUTSNUK

Do you want to get one of the best basic physical and mathematical education? Gain experience of modern scientific research of the international level in combination with the most modern computer technologies? Then join KAU Bachelor students who study in special academic groups on the basis of the Faculty of Physics, Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics and the Faculty of Radiophysics, Electronics and Computer Systems of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (in accordance with the agreement between the NAS of Ukraine and the University). In the 1-3 years of studies, students of these special groups of KAU are taught electives on additional chapters of linear algebra, differential geometry, other sections of mathematics, classical mechanics, field theory, quantum mechanics, quantum field theory, condensed matter physics and superconductivity in the relevant departments.

The peculiarity of the Enrollment 2019 is that a special group of the Department of Mathematics at KAU (basic institute of the department - the Institute of Mathematics of NAS of Ukraine) at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv will be formed when submitting documents to the enrollment committee of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics. To become a candidate for the KAU group, you must have at least 192 points in Mathematics and enroll in the group in the Committee. For enrollment in this group, please contact Shadura Vitalii Mykolayovych, Deputy Director for Educational and Scientific Work at KAU, tel. (068)353-50-40.

The enrollment of KAU Bachelors at the Department of Physics of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in 2020 in a special group of KAU will be formed when submitting documents to the Committee of the Faculty of Physics. Students who joined this group study in the 1-3 years in group 5-b of the Faculty of Physics, and from the third year can optionally specialize (study in the relevant educational and scientific programs) in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics - at the Bogolyubov Institute of Theoretical Physics of the NAS of Ukraine, in Neurophysics - at the Bogomoletz Institute of Physiology of the NAS of Ukraine, in Physics and Informatics of the Environment - at the Institute of Mathematical Machines and Systems Problems of the NAS of Ukraine and the Space Research Institute of the NAS of Ukraine. At the same time, there is an agreement to significantly increase the free choice courses in these programs, in particular on an optional basis, combining data science, machine learning and their application in these scientific areas.

To become a candidate for this KAU group, you must have at least 184 points in Physics and enroll in the KAU group in the Committee of the Faculty of Physics.

For enrollment in this group, please contact Shadura Vitalii Mykolayovych, Deputy Director for Educational and Scientific Work at KAU, tel. (068)353-50-40.

The main principles of the educational process at KAU are “learning by doing research” and individual approach. The last one consists in assigning each KAU student to a research supervisor in the chosen field of research, who supports the student's studies and research work: helps to form a personal curriculum and build a scientific career plan in accordance with personal preferences, abilities and features of world science.

KAU was formed in 2016 through the reorganization of the Physics and Technical Education and Research Center of the NAS of Ukraine. Formerly the Center was known as the Kyiv branch of Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (KB MIPT) where Ukrainian scientists were taught according to the "Phystech System" since 1978. Until 2016, the studying of bachelors of the Physics and Technical Education and Research Center was carried out at MIPT, and after 2016, bachelors of KAU were taught at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

"Phystech System" is one of the most effective implementations of the idea of a research university combining high quality education with individual involvement of students at the early stages of their education in research and innovation at "basic" research institutions (best known examples: Caltech and MIT in USA, EPFL and ETH in Switzerland).

Every entrant who is interested in a successful scientific career and wants to enter the Taras Shevchenko National University within the target enrollment of KAU, we advise to register as soon as possible in the database of entrants and students of KAU. The next step is that we help determine the direction of study and future research and choose the faculty and educational program. Further enrollment in the KAU master's program is carried out mainly by personal invitations and among graduates of special academic groups.
