Ukrainian players have won the international robotics competition
Two teams representing Kyiv Academic University won prizes in the 11th National Sports Robot and United Robots Elite Challenge.
This competition is a popular international competition taking place in China. This year, due to quarantine restrictions, the challenge took place online on December 12, 2020. Teams from China, Canada, USA, Ukraine and Russia took part in it.
As part of the competition, the robot of each team had to transport special cubes from point A to point B in compliance with special rules, doing it as quickly and efficiently as possible. The theme of this year's competition was the Great Silk Road, which has been a major trade route between China and the rest of the world.
Three teams consisting of middle school students represented Ukraine: ERA, ERA_junior and UkraineRoboMagic. The participation of Ukrainian teams became possible with the support of the Risen Center for International and Cultural Exchanges. The Ukrainian section took place in the Kyiv Academic University’s premises.
Two Ukrainian teams - ERA_junior and UkraineRoboMagic - took first place in the competition and were awarded certificates.
The finals of the 11th National Sports Robot and the United Robots Elite Challenge are expected to take place in May. Two winning teams from Ukraine will be able to take part in them. Other teams may also apply for the competition, but they will be carefully selected.
